What We Do - Introduction

The Missionary Community of Corpus Christi seeks to make present the living person of Jesus Christ in various parts of Asia by how the members live their lives as individuals and as a community and to minister to the people and serve them as Christ would.

On a personal level, members are required to uphold self-respect and maintain a deep spiritual relationship with God through Christ, to practise Christian virtue as best they are able to, bearing in mind constantly that they are ambassadors for Christ wherever they are and wherever they go.

On a community level, they are to maintain a life of mutual respect of each other, always encouraging and challenging one another in the use and developments of one’s gifts for the good of all, offering support and assistance in times of difficulties, and always finding ways to compliment one another in ensuring the unity of the body.

On a working level, they are to love, serve and minister as Christ would, always merciful and compassionate in dealing with others, respectful of each person’s dignity and seeking out the lost and disadvantaged in society, offering them hope for a just and better world and a way to restore their dignity as God’s own people.

The members of the Missionary Community of Corpus Christi draw their strength from their commitment to the Word and the Eucharist.  They meet weekly to be instructed by the Word and nourished by the Eucharist.  They gather to break open the Word, not only appropriating the words of scripture to themselves but also especially living them out in loving service of others.  They are to seek communion with Christ through the reception of the Eucharist as often as they can so that they can grow into the likeness of Christ whom they follow faithfully.

Therefore, working either at home or overseas, members are called to make present the person of Jesus in their community by the way they interact and relate to one another and by how they serve the local community through various projects and programmes.
