The Singaporean Missionaries spent some time in Brunei to familiarise themselves with MCCC

The three Singaporean missionaries to Cambodia, Gabby, Theresa and Frances spent a few days in Brunei for their orientation programme prior to leaving for their mission in Cambodia. They arrived on wednesday, 6 June 2007 at Miri airport and was taken straight to Kuala Belait where they met members of MCCC.
The next day, in spite of their tight schedule they were able to squeeze in a day of sight seeing in the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan. They were put on the bus and was met by Fr. Ivan who took them around the town to most of the popular tourist sights. They saw Kampong Ayer, the famous Water Village from a distance, and spent some time at the recreational park at Tasek Lama.

They also saw the Royal Palace and the impressive mosque at Kiulap in addition to the various shopping malls in town. On their way back to Kuala Belait, they had an opportunity to savour the 'royal' touch at the Empire Hotel and Resort and to see the now deteriorating state of the playground at Jerudong Park.

Once back, Gabby gave a presentation on their recent trip to Cambodia and the situation that they found there.

Friends and supporters of MCCC gathered to share a meal and to meet the Singaporeans.

Gabby also celebrated her birthday with the group.

The next day, Fr. Ivan took them through some aspects of missiology and living and working as missionaries abroad. Issues were discussed openly and the orientation programme finished on Saturday 9 June by noon.
