Introduction
The Missionary Community of Corpus Christi is open to any Catholic men, women or young adults, either married or single, of good faith and standing who wish to join as a member of the community. In fact, MCCC welcomes and invites any good practising Catholic from anywhere in the world who wish to commit their life as a member for any period of time. All that are required from those wishing to be a member is a firm commitment to the vision of MCCC and its objectives and a desire to be a Catholic Christian who is dedicated to upholding Christian values in carrying out these objectives. It is to be emphasized that, from the beginning, all those aspiring to be a member are to be part of a unit of MCCC comprising of up to six or eight members.
Those aspiring to be members must undertake a formation course lasting up to six months and following a period of discernment and evaluation, will then be admitted into full membership following a ceremony of dedication. Full membership entitles a person to have a say in the organisational structure of the community.
MCCC also offers members an opportunity either to be at home in familiar surroundings or abroad in some other countries. In other words, some may wish from the outset, to be part of an overseas unit, sent as a team to further the objectives of MCCC in a foreign country.
Those wishing to be part of an overseas team are required to commit to a period of service with MCCC that is to be mutually agreed upon and abide by the requirements of MCCC. All expenses will be borne by MCCC.
MCCC also provides opportunities for those who are not mem-bers who wish to spend a short spell of time to carrying out some services at the places where MCCC is currently present. Services can take the form of social work, teaching, or even church-related activities.
MCCC also welcomes ordained ministers and members of religious congregations into its membership without compromise to their own identity and charisms. In fact, MCCC invites priests and nuns to be part of the set-up in order to facilitate their involvement in missionary work and to allow them to exercise their charisms in the missionary field. However, all those in this category must include themselves as part of a particular MCCC unit.
